Mariah Carey has already given fans something to look forward to in 2027: new music.
The legendary singer offered the brief tease while meeting fan Jack Banana in Beverly Hills. When she was asked about her next musical chapter, Carey had a simple answer.
“Next year,” Carey said.
That’s it. Two words — but enough to put 2027 on the radar for the Lambs.
Carey did not reveal whether she was referring to a new album, a single or another type of musical release. She also has not announced a title, release date, track list, collaborators or details about what the new material will sound like.

The tease comes after the 2025 release of “Here For It All,” Carey’s 16th studio album. The project debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 and earned widespread praise.
There is also previously teased material that fans are still waiting on. Carey had hinted at a deluxe edition of “Here For It All,” although that expanded project has yet to arrive.
That makes her latest comment particularly interesting. Rather than providing details about the next project, Carey has simply pointed fans toward the next calendar year.
Carey has remained a major force in pop and R&B across multiple generations, with a catalog that continues to carry significant cultural weight. Her influence stretches from her songwriting and vocal performances to signature hits that remain deeply embedded in popular culture.
For now, though, the details surrounding her next release remain under wraps.
But Carey has given the Lambs a date to circle.
2027.
